Preventing contamination is fundamental to the operation of any Biomedical, Animal Care facility. To address the diverse range of cleaning schedules and related responsibilities involving a wide range of sanitation practices along with many challenges : Animal waste, animal feeding and handling procedures, safety and hygiene for lab staff, sanitization of surfaces, are only part of the 24/7 schedule.
Closer inspection of the day to day workload of an animal research facility reveals one type of Primary Barrier does not fit all applications as every facilities criteria must function across many levels : Wet or dry environments, temperature control, chemical neutral, security, radiology etc.
Arcoplast Primary Barriers are made up using Arcoplast Integrated Components and one or combinations of the three Arcoplast panel systems. Each type of Panel is manufactured using different composite materials, resulting in physical and mechanical properties designed and certified to function in the many different departments and working environments of a Biomedical, Animal Care facility.
There are standard and specialized GFRP panels, available in a range of sizes and thicknesses. All GFRP wall and ceiling panels have the Arcoplast easy to clean Gel-Coat surface. GFRP panels are the strongest most robust panel system in the Arcoplast range of panels.
Areas where large animals are processed, often the primary barrier is subject to animal contact, animal waste and harsh cleaning regimes. Cage wash facilities have a similar criteria. GFRP standard panels perform exceptional well in these environments.
GFRP Ultra is a specialized Heavy Duty 18mm thick panel, able to withstand extreme impact, Ultra panels are often used for wall linings in heavy traffic areas to provide protection to large animals against self inflicted harm.
GFRP Lead Panels are specifically manufactured for radiology departments. Arcoplast Lead Lined Panels are available in a range of sizes up to 12 feet long. The lead sheet is encapsulated inside the panel making for safe installation and handling. The panels come with a standard lead sheet, or by special order, panels can be manufactured with extra thick lead sheets.
GFRP Security Panels are 18mm thick, the panels have an encapsulated steel mesh barrier, providing a secondary level of strength and protection. These panels are used in high security areas to ensure restricted access, typically used for rooms where drugs and toxic chemicals are stored.
GFRMC panels have a Gel-Coat surface, they are the largest, lightest Arcoplast panel, with a length of 40ft, width 108in there are two thicknesses : 3/8in and 13/64in, weight 1.4 lbs./Sq. Ft and 1.09 lbs./Sq. Ft.
GFRMC panels are ideally suited and commonly used around the world for mobile or mini laboratories certified up to ABSL-3 and BSL-3.
i-Panels are a GFRP insulated layin ceiling panel, available in a range of thicknesses and R Ratings. The i-Panels will fit conventional grids and the Arcoplast TR35 suspended ceiling grid system.
The i-Panels has a high gloss easy to clean, highly durable Gel-Coat surface. The internal high density, rigid glass fiber insulation core is encapsulated by a saturated chopped strand fiberglass matt shell.
The i-Panel is used in Cage Wash areas, and areas where access into the intersticial space is a requirement.
TR35 is an FRP suspended ceiling panel grid system designed to house the Arcoplast i-Panel, the Acryloyl Tegular or Acryloyl Square Edge suspended ceiling panel.
To ensure a high performance grid to panel air, water tight seal, there are two silicon gasket seals, a foam gasket and the TR35 caulking seal.
